April 4th - 30th, 2019
An opening reception will take place on April 4th from 5:30-8 pm
Bedford St, Lexington MA, 2018, Liticia Avery
Massachusetts-based artist collective, recently, is pleased to announce their upcoming exhibition, contact, held at Jameson & Thompson Picture Framers in Jamaica Plain beginning April 4th and running through April 30th, 2019. It will feature select group members Liticia Avery, Mike Bodall, Tynan Byrne, Kevin Foley, Camilla Jerome, and Lee Wormald.
This show examines the many interpretations of what it means to ‘make contact’. The phenomena of contact take many physical and intangible forms and are here depicted in a variety of techniques and processes that further unpack the layers in which we are connected.
From handmade photo books to contact prints of plastic bags, the artists use photography to convey their interpretations of what connects us. Imagery that conveys touch, longing, and trepidation weave through the show like towering power lines tying us to each other. In both our digital and analog lives, we obsess over connection– this exhibition is a meditation on our current state.
The members of recently would also like to extend thanks to Jameson & Thompson Picture Framers for allowing us this incredible opportunity to exhibit in their gallery space and for their ongoing support of emerging artists.
